The Faint

So a few days ago I voted in this poll on the radio, and ended up winning 2 tickets to see The Faint at the Roxy (in Boston) tonight. I had never heard of them, and in the last couple days, I listened to 2 of their albums only about once each. Theyre 5 dudes who basically make fun party music. A lot of it is really synth-y (the newer stuff way more than the old), while some sounds much more like normal electric guitar-based music. Its kind of experimental. I'd say theyre kind of like Ratatat but with words.

I was pleasantly surprised by the show. Luckily we planned to go late and miss the openers, and timed it PERFECTLY. We had been in the door about 10min tops when the band came on stage. The lights were cool and rave-y, the hour that they played flew by, which doesnt usually happen with groups you arent familiar with, and I had fun. I really wasn't expecting much of anything since the last show I went to was Radiohead, which was one of the best of my life. Tonight was totally a party scene, perfect for a big group of friends who just wanna go nuts and dance. Too bad it was just me and my roommate standing off to the side haha. Either way, it was fun and I enjoyed it. Maybe I'll check out their albums.
